Last week my monitor died. There was no warning. I switched it on and the monitor came to life for about half a second when I saw the ikons were faint and and appeared to be negative, i.e. the colours were reversed and semi transparent.. It went 'click' and passed away.

I bought a new one yesterday bigger, cheaper and what a revelation! the images are brighter, clearer and appear sharper too (it isn't HD). Comparing it with my old one, it was obvious that it had been going downhill for a while with dowdy images and an obvious lack of contrast. The best cash I have spent in quite a while.

About 3 years ago I picked up a refurbished Eizo ColorEdge flat screen. Even though it was a tad pricey it is one of the few purchases that I have never regretted for one moment.
