new member here. just sayin hi!
have loved photography my whole life. recently i got in to devloping film myself and scanning it. not the greaest of equipement, but works for me.
as for cameras, right now i got a minolta XG-m that i love, and a ww2 robot luftwaffe camera that i bought as an investment, and i can seem to bring my self to sell it!
i find myself draw to street photography, and found out that i love the vintage stuff, before electronics.

i find my self wanting a zorki 1 camera, with the collapsable lens, but dont like the f3.5. the robot on the other hand, is auto and has an f2...... arrg.
im probly going to sell the robot lufewaffe and get another camera, but not sure witch one.....sigh.

anyway, just saying hi!

Nemoskull, welcome to the madhouse: you will find, over time, the meaning of GAS and why an elmar beats a tessar but not a sonnar: and a Heliar beats them all, except a Summilux. You may become obsessed with hunting the Russian 85 f1.5 or the Olympic Sonnar or the 35 f2.8 Summaron. Take my advice and just take pictures and don't obsess about stuff

Welcome to the forum.

Do you have a Messerschmitt to go with your luftwaffe camera? That would be so cool!

It's nice to have another FSU camera admirer around. That way when the time comes that I need to scrounge for parts . . . I know who call. ;-)

I don't know how you plan to acquire your Zorki 1, but I have had all-around good experiences with the Ukrainian and Russian vendors that I've used through eBay. Their ratings seem accurate. I had one vendor even include a nice postcard of the Museum of Art in Kiev in a package. I thought that was nice. I'm currently waiting on a Zorki 4, and hope to see that in a couple weeks. I can understand your interest in the Zorki 1, and I should add one my to collection also. That would make a collection of two.

Welcome. How many lenses do you have for the Minolta? To keep GAS cost down for now you could keep with Minolta....you know.....expand the collection.

Boy have I been in your shoes.........

You only sell to buy more, hopefully better cameras.

Legal ONLY if you use funds to buy more "stuff".

Hi there

I'm new too. I couldn't find a introductions thread so I'm going to politely hijack this one .

I shoot digital and film but over the last year a lot more film than digital. I mainly shoot 35mm black and white in a Nikon FE and occasionally medium format in a Pentax 67. I develop my own negatives and scan them with a V700. I haven't got space for darkroom so I'm not doing analogue printing yet. Would love to try it in the future though.

Just saying Hi! to everyone.

you dont need a darkroom for silver bromide paper good drapes at night should do or a under stairway cupboard at night

you do need a comfy chair

if you have a plastic tank with paper insert you can enlarge in cupboard and dev by time and temperature in wash room with reading lights on

but welcome
