Welcome to this group Woodman133! Age is not a barrier to the enjoyment of photography. Like you, I started taking photos at about age 11 growing up on a farm in northern NSW (Australia), using my mother's Box Brownie. I moved to Sydney for work in 1964 (I'm now 80) and quickly bought a 35mm SLR and later a 2nd-hand Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta that really got me into the larger formats although 35mm remained my major means of photography. I also promptly started developing my own film including slides. I still do all my own developing - b&w, slide, colour neg - from 35mm through 120/220 roll film, 4"x5" LF, to 8" x 10" LF. I still get a buzz from the whole manual process. I also have several digital cameras but my greatest enjoyment is film and printing my own photographs. I sorely miss Cibachrome/Ilfochrome! I have my own dedicated darkroom in which to do my own processing. My favourite roll film camera is my fully manual Mamiya RB67 (range of 6 lenses) and a number of film backs where I can choose the type of film to use, switching from b&w to tranny etc. when I want, and rotating the back between landscape and portrait modes as I see fit. Yes - it's a heavy camera but weight = stability. (less risk of camera shake if using it hand-held). I can't help with your Olympus T45 hammerhead. I use several Metz flash guns with rechargeable AA batteries.
