Hello everyone,
first I want to apoligise in advance for my poor English, please be understanding...
I am an amateur photographer who used to shoot digital since two years ago, when I almost completely switched to analog.

Honestly I can't remember why I bought my first film gear (Olympus OM1 and OM20 plus several zuiko lenses in block), maybe because of my incurable GAS. Since then I expanded my collection of cameras, and disgusted by the quality of the prints from local lab I learned to develop B&W film by my own and finally, on last Christmas day I made the very first print in my darkroom....

I still have not seriously asked myself why I am so fond of analog photography, but I think it is a mix of things; I simply like the look of analog prints better then digital ones, I love the control over the whole process from the exposure to the final print, I love to have prints without the need of a printer, I find the cameras sexy . I am by nature disordered and little methodical, and the analog process, with its need of method and control at each step is a challenge for me. Ok, I just realised I am doing self-psychoanalisis...

Welcome to Photrio!

Your English is perfectly fine; my Italian is nonexistent, so no need to apologize.

I agree with your sentiments about the nature of analog photography; it is a craft and an art that is both demanding and satisfying when done right.

Looking forward to your contributions to this site! Everyone brings something to the table...

Welcome to the group. And I second Kino. If done properly, black and white can be a very long process with exacting methodology. And in a world jammed to the top with and endless means of instant gratification, our photography is the perfect way to center ourselves and just relax and breathe.
