I always worked on fp4+ and hp5 film on 4x5.
I bought the new 400 tmax because i ran out of film to try it out.

Along with ilford hp5 I had i took some 'double' shots of the same scene.
The negs are hanging for drying, but what i see in comparison is that the highlights of the tmax look less dense than the same on the hp5 film.

Are there some other people out there who found this out also?

See how they print, Tmax films tend to look a bit thinner in the highlights partially due to their finer grain, and HP5 has more base density.

The only time I did a side by side comparison like this was with TMY and Tri-X. I found the same thing. In fact, I developed another TMY strip just to make sure and it came out just like the first. They printed fine however.
