On this evenings news, both national and local, they showed some amateur footage taken about a minute or so before the shooting.

I was actually quite surprised at the color and the clarity of this film. It's much clearer and more steady than the Zapruder film. For a 40+ year old film, I thought it held up quite well -- then it hit me -- Kodachrome!

Did anybody else see that? Any opinions as to what film? Do you think it was 8mm or 16mm?

Hmmmm ... I wonder if they did any significant cleaning-up or restoration on it?

Quite likely Kodachrome, but there is something about this clip that seems weird to me. I can't put my finger on it, but it seems strange.

could it be that there's a different technology in use now to go from film to tv? It reminds me of my first film scans with digital GEM and digital ROC turned way up.
