Hello to all,
Newcomer here, amateur hobbyist, been shooting since '92 initially with Nikon F801 and since '04 with Canon EOS 50E (Elan IIE), 1D Mk II N and 40D.
Bit tired and unnecessarily overwhelmed by all the gitzmos of modern dSLRS and also by buying so much gear that I never use, I have recently decided to go back to film.
I just purchased a used Hassy 500C/M (1984) and also plan to get a Leica MP by the end of the year.
Most important, I intend to start developing film on my own, in order to have more control of the whole process and additionally the full satisfaction of this wonderful hobby.
The learning curve is steep, but I strongly believe it is much better going back to the basics and speeding at a slow pace (σπεύδε βραδέως, as we say in Greek) than wasting any more time on acquiring gear that one may seldom use simply because it gets in the way between him/her and the intended subject to be captured.
