Anyone catch this listing on eBay:

The seller says he is or is representing the inventor of the original Mido filmholders and will be coming out with new versions in about 6 months in sizes up to 11x14" and perhaps beyond, if there is demand. If it comes about, this would be great news, as conventional filmholders really add to the weight and bulk of the kit once you get past 8x10".

I always found it amusing that people would not just crop the negative but have to have the "panoramic" format. OTOH if he comes out with an 8x10 mido film holder I will be first in line.

I've already emailed him about 8x10" and 11x14" holders, so you're second in line, but I completely agree that the panoramic holder idea is a non-starter. Much easier to crop the film after the fact than to cut special sizes in advance and still have to carry a large camera.

I use a darkslide cut in half (actually cut in an "L" shape) if I want to get two panos on a sheet. The darkslide was free (a cracked one I got from a friend), and cutting it carefully was about 20 minutes work.
