new fuji superia 400

I saw a new fuji superia film 400 in Target today. Surprisingly, that film had no the 4th layer. Fuji website contains no information regarding the film. Has anyone tried it? Is is better than 4-layer superia 400?

I don't think it was a new film. All of Fuji's current Superia films have the 4th layer.

Expiration date was 10/2009. Made in Japan.
The picture on the box showes that only 800 and 1600 films have the 4th layer.
Looks like new superia 400 is a 3-layer film.

Walmart used to sell an HX-Pro Fuji (maybe still do?) that was 3 layer film. I always assumed it was older, easier-to-make technology. I recall it being a sort of price-point film.

All the Realia line of films are 4 layer films. There is a film called "True Definition 400" which doesn't seem to have the additional layer.
