"New" film available from JCH

I do believe he was saying that the Kentmere was a "different" film as they had established a policy of not selling any of their films under another brand, so that they had come up with a new film for that market. They are quite happy to do conversion and packaging, and presumably would also coat a custom batch, but would draw the line at private labeling an existing Ilford formula. (so no more "Arista English Professional)

I think you are saying that Kentmere films fall into that category of film that would allow Harman to re-brand that film by another name without this compromising its no re-badging policy. Have I got this correctly?

If I have got this correctly, can you point out the source of Simon G's statement. The original source may be key here. Thanks

The point may be that the formulation underlying Kentmere 400 may not be an original Ilford/Harman formulation to begin with (see link provided by Anon Ymous), so may not fall under whatever Simon said.

Where did you got that?
Sorry to say that, but you got it wrong.
Kentmere 100 and 400 were introduced in 2009 first in the US market as a budget alternative to the more expensive Ilford films.
They are new emulsions from Ilford/Harman and are marketed as Kentmere and not Ilford just from a strategic and marketing point of vue.
