Just returned from a vacation and want to share a couple of pictures made with my new sliding box 4X5 camera.These are scanned from 8X10 enlargements made with my reflective enlarger.Pretty happy with the camera and enjoyed attempting some contrast control on the negatives using semi-stand development.
Used flashed Ilford MG4 glossy for the negatives and also the print(though I'd rather print on Pearl but didn't have any at the time).Dektol was used on both but the dilution for the negatives was 1:30 and normal 1:2 for the prints.Hope you like them...

Inspiring (I just got me a 5x7" camera). I've got a thing for trees, but maybe like the cactus a little better?

What kind of "sliding box camera" do you use?

It's a home made one.You can see it in:" Camera Building,Repair and Mods"here on APUG,it"s in"Pix of your home-built camera etc.2" the thread's on page 5.
I kinda' agree about liking the cactus(actually called a Joshua Tree I'm told)better but the tangled tree limbs on the other tree picture caused a problem with dappled sunlight such that the semi stand development was strained to compinsate for it, I think(extreme contrast in the original subject)and as these are straight prints am thinking a little manipulation might be in order when reprinting.

Here is a paper neg san'd using a 5x7" concocted camera and using a 4x5" insert to the film casette.
The 11th century abbey is in "Villers la Ville" Belgium.
Note the dreaded "s" word is garbled for this forum, how else is one to show the image?!

You are welcome to scan stuff for discussion and refer to scans or scanning in passing. It is discussions on scanning itself or discussions where scanning issues are integral that are discouraged.

I like them both.. you have a whole paper negative system for travel!
Is it possible to put a filter under the lens of the reflective enlarger?

Thanks Ned,
Yes,other than the light source bouncing off the negative instead of passing through it,the enlarger functions as a"normal" enlarger would.In fact these prints used a #4 grade contrast filter under the lens for printing.

Hi, Here is a new pic from a Ihagee Duplex 6x9, it seems to have a back focus issue which needs some investigating as the point of focus on the ground glass was on the lemons & peppers but ended up bringing the painting in the background in as sharp using f11: http://www.ipernity.com/doc/987971/42046864
