New Boy with probably a daft questions on 617 format

I have searched the groups and the medium format forum and nothing on Fuji GX617 or indeed 617.

Is this newboy doing it all wrong ? please be gentle. I am returning to film in particular the GX617 and this seems to be the best forum and resource so hopefully I am in the right place ?

all comments, funny, harsh, serious and useful will be welcome.
