After four years, I have finally finished the second edition of my book The Platinum Printing Workshop. It covers all the significant variants of the developing-out process and the printing-out process. For the historically minded, it also includes the text of William Willis Jr's platinotype patents. In all it has 192 pages of platinum/palladium printing joy!

Canadian buyers beware!!!

my book arrived today
granted the checkout page does say
"customs, import duties, taxes or brokerage fees may be levied"

so in addition to paying $39 for the book and $6.99 for shipping (US$)

I "enjoyed" (not!) the privilege of paying an additional $17.44 (CDN$) for a small book which normally would be mailed for the cost of $6.99. The taxes were $2.48 the handling charges were $14.25, remember that is in addition to the $6.99 for shipping.

note to self in the future always ask if the book will be shipped by USPS
couriers (it came by DHL express) love to add on significant "handling charges" for us Canadians

in summary what looks like a $39 purchase costs us Canadians $77.69 in Cdn $. Hope it is worth it…..!

Bob, I will let you know after I read it….

I think we are entitled to a little rant every now and then when the on-line documentation is ambiguous over how the item will be shipped, and what the total costs will be….

I'm sorry to hear this, although shipping costs and customs duties are outside my control.

I do offer a PDF version for people who prefer that format.

Ian was kind enough to lend me his notes on this book about a year ago.. He has written a lovely description.

Mine arrived yesterday. Will give it a quick look and then tear into it over the weekend. Very nice work Ian, and having been in the printing business forever and a day, they did a nice job on the printing, halftones, and perfect binding. Good job.

I received my yesterday. It contains a wealth of information and the photos are truly stunning. I can’t wait to begin putting what I am learning from the book into practice.

OMG this book was crazy good. the images a so stunning. If you want to get into this or review the process it is worth the money I paid. Thank you Ian for getting it to me so fast.
