It seems appropriate to announce publication on this forum, as my work has always been film capture and silver gelatin printed.

Beyond Casual Vision was published in May, 2017. This memoir of a life in photography recounts my sixty year journey as a fine art photographer. The story begins with childhood recollections of family visits to the home of Edward Weston in 1949 at Wildcat Hill.

I may pick up a copy -- I'm aware of your use of an acetone developer (though perhaps not exclusively) so seeing your images would be interesting.

It's a fine portfolio of a master photographer and an intriguing odyssey of a young man among some of the great photographers of his and all time.

I received mine a couple of days ago. I am already quite impressed with the book and I recommend it.

I am nowhere near finished with it but I am already inspired by some of the images I have reviewed.

As usual it will take some time for me to work through the stories but the photographs are first rate.

Thank you Merg for putting the work into getting this one published.

Thank you, Jim and Dan for your comments.

Foreign delivery has been taking about seven days. Domestic (USPS Media Mail) have recently been delivered coast to coast in three days.

Best,
Merg

My copy arrived this monrng, thanks Merg.

It's a wonderful book, I've only had time to read snippets of the text but the photographs are superb, inspirational.

Indeed, for many years I have used an Acetone/Metol film developer. Your comment prompted me to take a look into the origin of the sixty-three photographs appearing in the book.

For what it's worth, one-half of the negatives were exposed on sheet film (4x5 or 8x10), and the remainder on 120 roll film of varying formats. Ten of the sheet film negatives were developed in the Acetone/Metol formula. The roll films were developed in Rodinal, and more recently, Pyrocat-HD.

This said, as good as the reproductions are, the developer differences are probably indiscernible!
