New analog-based photo magazine

Dear friends,

I don't think there's any harm in passing along the news --good news!-- that there is a new quarterly, print-only magazine called Film und Foto (Dead Link Removed) that could interest some of you, either as subscribers, advertisers or potential contributors. From the looks of it, it is a "little magazine" and very fiesty in its defence of film-based photography, but with ecclectic tastes and printed on paper which resembles oyster fibre-based enlarging paper.

Why has a magazine printed in Spain and with a HP in spanish and english a german title? Is it in english?

With regards to the first question, I suppose this has as much to do with freedom of expression as it does with the 1929 expo of the same name. With regards to the second, I quote from the site: Most of the content is in Spanish but from time to time some English- and French-language work appears in parallel fashion. The photogs listed are from different countries, including your own.

Since the publication's title is only a historical reference to a 80 year old exposition. And reading the "purpose statement" on the link provides no info as to format limitations - what leads you to state that this is an analog photography quarterly?

For North America, it would be around $32 at current exchange rate. I wouldn't mind working on my Spanish, but wish they had a single issue price (in order to see quality of articles & images). Or how about a downloadable pdf? Good luck with the magazine.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, agreed, the exchange rate doesn't do much for cross-cultural transfer, nor do shipping costs. The best case would be to have an English-only edition but this is not possible. Single issues are, however, available.

While there are several English-language publications in this vein, I don't know of any in Spanish, and so this may be welcome news to some.

Although that expo was nearly 80 years ago, many of the photogs who showed their work in it are in many ways still revelant today, or at least that is the premise of the magazine.

But for what it's worth it is one more place where people can send their work in order to reach a different audience, and this is generally a positive thing.
