They commented that they would be using the original Polaroid formula. How do they get that and Impossible has to reinvent everything? Also, thinking about about making it is a long way from a production run, just ask Impossible. Not trying to be too pessimistic, but I'll believe it when I see it.

It sounds like this will be a limited run, of basically some old refrigerated stock of Polaroid materials (paper), with a mix of (new reagents, non Polaroid), home brew, developing chemicals.

From 20X24 Facebook thread:

20x24 Studio This is the original Polacolor ER, purchased from Polaroid and kept in cold storage. New reagent will be mixed from our chemical compounds. It is essentially fresh T809, but we will not call it that. It will be a limited run and will test the waters to see if creating a new color emulsion is viable.54 minutes ago

Dead Link Removed20x24 Studio As we stated before, we have some assembly logistics to set up, but our intent is to make this happen.

This really doesn't sound like a sustainable "new product."
More, a last gasp of an "attic find."

That is correct, this would be a limited run with existing material, identical to Polacolor T809. Our purpose is two fold, to satisfy a demand for a product that has essentially disappeared and to expand the 20x24 Studio product line. If demand is enthusiastic, we would work towards a sustained supply of a new color instant film. We would also like to meet the demands of the 4x5 market and this would be a step in that direction.

Will This Still Require The 8 X 10 Polaroid® Land 8 X 10 Film Processor Model 81-12 ?

Yes, you would need the 8x10 Processor, Film Cassette, and Tray. Calumet also made a portable hand crank unit.
