New 127 film! (?)

Concerning 127 in general:
There is a project in Europe evaluating a new finishing / confectioning line for 127 film. But it is much too early for any statements.
We have to wait and be patient.

Especially in the recent past of manufacture the production was often divided over manufucturers. Thus from a type of conversion one cannot simply deduce the origin of the earlier stages.

Seemingly there still was the offer of doing conversions at the Efke plant beyond the date of cancellation of full production.

EFKE was the plant that was packing most of the 127 film that was available in the last few years, Outside of the colour stuff from "Frugal Photographer." Supposedly film ferania still has 127 Packing equipment and so they may be able to convert film into 127 if they get the major part of their project up and running.

The EFKE 127 spools had a brass insert in a plastic spool. The insert had the slot to engage the camera, so the spool wouldonly fit one way for takeup.

And the Efke spools are too big to work as take-up spools in a Rollei baby grey. I NEVER use them for take-up spools. I have about 20 old METAL Kodak spools that I carry with me.

I missed the Ilford ULF order this year but won't next. I am going to get som HP-5 Plus 46mm film and reload all my saved 127 paper backings & spools.

The HP5+ 46mm (127) stuff from ilford is top notch! Wish I had bought more!

I do wish they would make paper backing, my paper is starting to get kinda ratty at the edges...

Best part is it ends up coating only $5 per roll!!!! Yes! Ilford for the win!

They offered bulk 120 printed backing paper. It can easily be trimmed down for 127. If run backwards (countdown mode) the 6*45 numbers show up perfectly in most 127 4*4 red windows.
