Just found out NESOP is closing in spring of 2020. This is so sad. I took many classes there and was a teaching assistant for Nick Johnson’s Zone class. Perhaps all the darkroom equipment can be repurposed.

Last year NESOP moved to Moody Street in Waltham. BU owns Kenmoore Square and owned the building NESOP was in. Waltham seems a bit out of the way for students to commute to.

I didn't know they moved to Waltham, that seems to be one of the things that killed EP Levines ( after Newtonville camera bought it ). Too bad BU gentrified Kenmore square the way they did, it was nice when you could go to The Rat and have some cheep food and a cheep beer and then go downstairs and see some loud music. Around the corner it seems the Pour House went from being a Biker Bar to a trendy college hangout to vanished too. Oh well, way of the world..

In 1997 I bought a 12 X 20 Folmer Banquet from EP Levines for $350.00. I had it redone for another $250.00. Used it a lot and eventually sold it to another NESOP student. EP Levines, Hunts Photo and a few places in Harvard Square were great places to find used equipment. I bought and still have most of my filters at Hunts Photo in Melrose.
