Nelson Gold Toner Precipitate

I mixed Nelson gold toner 3 days ago and it's still cloudy, and of course there's the expected accumulating sediment. Does this toner ever really clear or will it remain cloudy? The sediment isn't supposed to enter the tray with the print, so it seems to make sense to run the whole solution through a coffee filter to get rid of it. I'm just wondering if the chemistry is still reacting and the sediment in solution should remain... Anyone know?!!!

Mark, Its been a long time since I last used Nelson Gold toner, but what I remember of it my solution remained a little cloudy and it worked fine. However I did filter it to remove the sediment. BTW did you mix it with distilled or deionised water?

Yes Trevor, distilled water.

Mark, I think it should be ok. I do remember occasionally getting a film of white deposit on some prints after toning but this was easily removed by taking the print out of the wash water and sponging with a wet good quality viscose sponge.

Mark, cloudy is normal. Trevor is right about the white spots. be careful to check coming out of the wash for them.
