This is a section of 220 Fujifilm NPH 400. Shot in a Fujica GS645W. I do all my own developing and haven't seen this issue yet. Does anyone know what this is?

The camera has sticky light seals but I don't think that is the problem--recent photo with the camera:

Looks a bit like "next frame" fogging. Sometimes when you shoot a very bright scene, enough light will leak out of the film gate and past a roller to fog film from the previous or next frame where it's between the rollers and the spools. This genearlly only occurs with cameras or film inserts where the spools are "forward" of the film plane; otherwise the light would have to reflect once or twice to get to the unprotected emulsion.

Lay the negative back in the camera, upside down and emulsion in with a frame in the aperture, and see where that bar falls on the body. Check the light seal there. It looks like the shots that are fogged are exterior shots, right?

Bet your hinge seal is going bad...

The hinge might be it. I didn't think about the 220 film not having backing paper.

Also, maybe the pressure plate was set for 120--that might allow enough light to leak around an exposure singe the pressure would be too light.

What a huge bummer. Salvaged one photo out of 30 or so. I really like this film too.

My mom's house in Montana. There was a bunch of photos on that roll that I would love to have.
