I am looking for some help with this enlarger as I don't have a manual for it. I bought this unit recently without a negative carrier as I thought it was the same model that I had used at my local community college. I purchased a neg carrier from Adorama that was one that fits all 670 enlargers. The only difference on the enlarger that I can see is that it does not have a lever on the left side to lower the plate so that I can insert the neg carrier. All that I can see that it has are three knurled screw heads (one on each side and one in back) that don't lower it at all. Also, it has a metal band on each side between the light housing and the the plate that appear to hold the carrier in place when it is in position. So can anyone tell how the carrier goes in?

Thanks,
Gary

If I remember correctly, on my old 670XL there was a yellow lever on the right side which raised the unit enough to slide in any of the negative carriers. The knurled knobs on the sides are for focusing and the one in back is for locking the head after raising or lowering.
