I have a Mamiya RZ67 110mm lens arriving soon. I noticed in the photo that it's missing 1 of the screws that attach the plastic cover for the lens shutter release button. Does anyone know where I could purchase a replacement? Or is there a way I could find out the exact size needed and search that way?
The plastic cable release socket housing of the RZ67 lens is fastened with two 1.6 mm diameter x 2.7 mm length x 0.35 mm pitch pan-head cap screws. The cap is rather thin at 0.68 mm.
The drive socket is JIS #000 cross-slot. The screws are magnetic (not stainless) and are finished dull black. The length is measured from the underside of the cap to the end of the threaded shaft of the screw. Both screws need to be secured in place to ensure proper positioning of the parts forming the lens release mechanism.
Finding an exact replacement would be easiest by consulting a repair shop that deals with Mamiya repairs. There has recently been an advertiser on APUG/Photrio that specializes in this. I don’t see the ad running currently. Possibly someone reading this can supply the contact information for the company to which I refer.
Thanks again. I compiled a small list of camera repair shops in the US, and one is an authorized Mamiya repair shop, so I think I'll contact them first.
Could the company you are thinking of being Blue Moon Camera and Machine? I have them on my shortlist.
Just a slight clarification: the screws holding the socket are 1.7mm diameter. Mamiya did not use 1.6mm screws on any of their cameras, mainly 1.2mm,1.4mm,1.7mm and 2.0mm with a few larger sizes thrown in.
