I just picked up a Fuji 90mm f/8 SW for my Korona view camera and I am in need of a recessed lens board. The lensboard opening for the camera is 115mm x 115mm and the depth from the opening to the ground glass is 105mm. Any ideas where to buy or how to make such a board?

For those of us with tooling, a dimensional sketch is the first step.
It would also help if you posted some photo's of the front standard, the opening, and the retaining clips.
Also, what is the length of the rear lens element?

I'd try the usual suspects first : Badger Graphics, Lens & Repo, Midwest Photo Exchange, Calumet etc. to see what they have. If you can find a ressed lensboard that is smaller than your opening 115mm x 115mm AND the Fujinon will fit it with room for the cable release, consider having a lensboard adapter made to use it on your Korona.

Otherwise send the camera and lens to SK Grimes and they will make a lensboard to fit. This will not be cheap!

Good luck!

It's taken me a while to reply but thanks to suggestions from Ian C, I spent a little time in the garage fabricating a recessed lensboard out of 1/4" baltic birch ply. I can make straight cuts except for the cut-out of the outer board! Anyway, it's 15mm deep and the lens focuses at infinity with just a few mm of bellows extension. And Gorilla Glue is great stuff!

Now I just need to get some photos from it.

Thanks for the replies - they are always appreciated.

So, are there any curved cable releases? I've discovered that neither of mine will fit in the recession. It's always something....

You might have to rotate the lens so that the release scoket is in the corner of the recess for the greatest clearance.
