I recently purchased a Sony Cybershot DSC-RX100 III with a sharp "Vario-Sonnar" lens, but the RAW (.arw in this case) images are severely distorted, and "Correct camera distortion" in Photoshop Elements doesn't work well, so I need another program for this, that has the distortion profile for the Sony Cybershot DSC-RX100 III. A search gave no good results, and a plugin for Gimp just made the program crash. Any tips in the right direction are welcome.
And it begs the question how many "top quality" digital camera lenses are actually subpar but have their aberrations digitally corrected in camera...
Give RawTherapee a try. It's free, so all it takes is downloading it and seeing if it does what you want. I use it rarely, but as I recall it does have some distortion correction functionality.
Heck - let's just fire it up and check - here's the cameras it has profiled lens correction for:
It also has a whole slew of profiles for Sony lenses. Here's what the dialog looks like:
In addition, there are also several manual corrections in the same menu area.

I played around in RawTherapee and it works well. I downloaded Imaging Edge Desktop, but it asked to download another exe file that had chinese characters, and it didn't feel safe.
