Hi!

I will be receiving a Kodak 3A folding camera with a film back that accepts 3.25 by 5.5 cut sheet film. The film holders I see are for glass plates, but I would like to use film and need the film sheaths in that size.

Can someone help me locate some film sheaths for this size? The usual auction site did not yield anything at the moment.

Thanks for your ideas.

I've been planning to make film sheaths, I've plenty of Quarter plate, 9x12, 5x4, and smaller but need some for larger formats. Some are relatively simple and just as effective as the Eastman Kodak stamped types. I bought Aluminium sheet to make mine but haven't had the time/inclination to get started, too many other projects/issues.

The plan was to get a steel plate made to fold the edges over.

Is there anyway you could use 9x12 film, I've a Compact Graflex to restore and it's the same Postcard size format. I've found it's easy to adapt to use modern DDS film holders 5x4 or 9x12 (same outside dimension). With 5x4 I won't be able to use the full film height but 9x12 is fine, although half an inch short but I can live with that.

I may have some Postcard sized film holder from a falling plate camera, I'll look in the next day or so.

David, I have a Graflex 3 1/4 X 5 1/2 cut film magazine with twelve septums you may be interested in. It's in very nice shape overall and comes in original box. I presume the septums came be used in lieu of sheaths...

Aside of cutting sheets yourself or adapting a different film holder, you also can order custom-cut sheets. Depends on how much throughput you expect for that camera, to make that reasonable.
