Some day ago I tried to use the self timer after some time. I can cock it and start it. After 2 seconds the lever "collides" with the edge of the frame of the camera, This never happened before.
If I lift the spring loaded pin the timer finishes correctly. It is the collision problem alone. I may remove the pin but I don't want to cripple such a fine camera.
Has anybody seen this? The camera got no kicks (as far as a know) so I do not believe that something is bend.
All I can suggest is to treat all camera self timers as something that does not exist.I have had nothing but trouble from those things, including one that cost me over $200 to repair on a Zeiss Ikonta V. Just forget it's even there, and if you need a self portrait, pre focus the camera and hand it off to someone to take the pic. Great way to make a new friend too when they look down into the waist level finder and see the view.
I have bend the lever slightly and it works again.

I need the timer when I use longer times (slower than 1/15). I put the camera at "somewhere", a fence, a wall or so. This is mostly sightly wobbly. If I'd press the release button I'd end with a blurred image. The self timer helps then a lot.
