Need help on expired 4x5 film

Hi guys, i'm relatively new to 4x5 photography and just bought myself a HUGE load of expired 4x5 tmax 100 ready loads and a box of 100 delta 100s. (both severely expired.)

Hence i was wondering:

What asa would i shoot the film in?
the kodak Tmax expired on 2003 , and the deltas in 1998.

If they had been stored cold, the TMax 100 sheets should be good as new. They're not that old. Start with the manufacturer's recommendations and adjust from there if needed. The Delta films, being older might have some age related problems. I say might because I have some Tri-X 320 that is at least that old, has been stored cold it's whole life, and is still fine.

It is probably all fine. I would shoot a couple of test sheets to see what it looks like, then go from there. It's too hard to just guess at how to use it. You need to test.

i shoot expired tmax100 all the time.
most of mine expired pre 2003, and some of my
trix and tmax400 sheets expired in the 90s.
none of it was stored in a freezer or fridge &C, just on a shelf, and it all looks nice .

I've been shooting some expired TMY for the last few years. It expired early in this decade and I have no idea of how it was stored before I got it. It was so inexpensive that I couldn't pass it up. I have one box in the 'fridge and the rest in the freezer. I've noticed no problems at all when compared to fresh film, and I'll probably be able to report on how it holds up for another ten years or so.

Given that you probably got an incredible deal on the film, don't even think about the fact that it's expired when you shoot it tomorrow...just go out and treat it like new film. Unless someone stored it in the trunk of their car, you'll probably never see a difference from fresh film.
