Hello,

I'm, attempting a repair on a Fujica STX-1n.

The shutter trigger is completely loose, the film advance moves freely and does nothing, and the Shutter speed dial can't move past 125/250.
Also the mirror may be stuck.

However, my first problem encountered is taking the top off of the camera.
I'm not entirely sure how to remove the thing around the film rewind shaft.

Does anyone have any advice or knowledge to grant, much appreciated.

Kind Regards.

This is one of the trickier aspects of camera repair: Once upon a time, a custom-made tool was likely used, and there was never any real standardization, so you can't buy a convenient master set of tools. Many people use an H-type lens spanner wrench, a sturdy pair of tweezers or dividers, but I find those awkward for small-diameter fasteners, and prone to slipping and causing damage. These days, my preferred solution is to design custom tools in FreeCAD, and 3D-print them. Ordinary PLA is adequately strong for most such applications.

It's possible that there's another screw hidden beneath the hot shoe flat spring.

You'll likely also need to to do some soldering once the top cover is off.
