I recently finished stripping and refinishing a old Burke & James wooden field camera. Since I had to partially destroy the old bellows in this process, I had a new bellows made by Turner Bellows. It arrived yesterday, and it's a beauty, nice black color, not that tacky red. Now I need to know: what is the best way (adhesives, etc.) to attach the bellows to my restored camera? Thanks for your help in advance!
I can remember that Linhoff used blackened strips with screws (with sunken heads) for their Master Technika.
A rubber glue (rubber cement) can be used if that looks a better option for you.
Be shure to put the bellows exactly in the middle, a piece of masking-tape can be used as a guide.
Don't ask me for any US brand-names, I'm from The Netherlands.
If you're going to glue it on, Beseler technician said they use weatherstrip cement when installing replacements on enlargers
I think rubber cement won't be permanent.
