hi all i have just got a 4x5 kodak masterview and i now need a lens i will be mostly doing landscape i know nothing about large format so all help is greatly needed ps im in the uk and have a budget of around 100 pounds thanks ,wayne
 
Despite your limited budget, it should be possible to get a good lens for that camera.

Since even new shutters cost more than that, you will have to live with something "vintage", which is a nice euphemism for "old". Almost as nice as "classic". :smile:

A "normal" focal length is about 150mm, and in that length it should also be easiest to find something good, but cheap. Look for Schneider Xenar or Symmar, Zeiss Tessar, or perhaps a 6" Serrac?

Come to think of it I might have one or more of these somewhere in my "heap of lenses". I'm in Norway, so the postage won't be too bad. I'll see what I have when I get home on Tuesday, unless someone else finds one first. :smile:
