The pain in the behind part of these choices to me is sorting out all of the features from model to model; some additions, some removals and which of those is most important.
I had a guy at a local shop tell me that a Fuji x100f wouldn't be able to get the same images as my Eos 6d mkII. I didn't hang out to argue the point that the x100 would let me get a lot of "missed" shots and that was the point, and I wasn't trying to get apples to apples out of a compact camera.
That being said, the used X100f copies I have seen all looked like they'd been dropped down flights of stairs and were still $700 or more.
