i don't know how to attache a cable release to this lens.
schneider 90mm f8 super angulon lens
i have a toyo view 4x5 and it is mounted on a recessed lens board. it has no threaded socket for a cable , and the shutter just has a lever that fires the shutter.
so my question is: what do i need to attach a cable?
Sounds as if there isn't a cable release socket? An exterior block next to the release lever, or an opening in the shutter body threaded for a cable?
If you search 'recessed lens board cable release,' you'll see a variety of linkages and such. It's usually a series of hacks if you don't have the factory kit. Here's someone going through a process- http://www.fourmilab.ch/documents/recessed_lensboard/ You add a slot or foot on the actuator piece to connect to your shutter lever, maybe.
Most or all Toyo monorails don't need a recessed board with a 90mm lens if you have a bag bellows. A flat board and bag bellows setup is easier to use too. Regarding the shutter having no cable release socket... the second link in Dan's post above would be my choice.
