Ralph, I have one that came with a D300 my wife bought - ''Nikon D300'' in yellow on a black strap - I can send this to you for free - we don't use this one.
 
Personally, I've never really liked these straps which advertise the manufacturer's name on them. I've always bought a new strap with no writing on them.

But then I won't buy any 'designer' clothes that have the name hugely emblazoned on them either.

The bottom line being that I just don't want to be an obvious advertiser for companies.

My choice and others have theirs.

I just recently acquired a mint+ FM2N off eBay. It came with a full case and a beauty Sony strap. I turn to Adorama in NYC and for $16.00 got a new Nikon strap.

I second these sentiments. When young, a fellow photographer and I sort of reciprocally self-fed a sense of repulsion for those wide straps with huge branding badges that we used to associate with tourists carrying cheap japanese cameras around Italian cities, photographing the most cheesy things in horrible pictures that were going to annoy even their close relatives when back home. The exact opposite of the kind of artists or professionals who we fantasized we were going to be.

Since then I have always very carefully selected, with a sort of religious integralism, only narrow black nylon straps for my cameras. Sometimes a narrow brown or black leather strap, for older cameras to which a leather strap is more appropriate.

But of course, as already said by others, to each his own.

I avoid wearing advertising straps or cases that boldly proclaim camera names ( or, in fact, any other names). I am not an unpaid sandwich man.
 
I think by far the worst straps ever were the colorful braided banjo straps that were popular with amateurs in the 1970s and 1980s.
1. They invariably had steel snap clips on the ends which chewed up and marred the corner of the camera body above the strap lugs.
2. A steel square adjustment buckle was another hazard.
3. These banjo straps were almost sold to an unsuspecting new photographer "to be comfortable" along with an off-brand zoom lens and several off-brand UV filters to "protect" their valuable lenses.
I occasionally see one of these complete kits at eBay auctions from one of the Goodwill sellers. The kits look like the original buyer tired of photography, put all the stuff in a closet, and then someone donated the package to Goodwill. Often the camera is ruined because the batteries leaked.

A neck strap should be convenient, comfortable and able to safely support the camera it is attached to. If you're concerned about anything else, you would be better off directing that mental energy toward making photos. BTW, Ralph, it sounds like the second poster has what you need and is relatively close by. I hop you take him up on the offer.
 
I prefer straps that are long enough to permit using them "cross body".
Some are not.
 

I agree with respect to clothing. But there's a fundamental difference here. You pay for that shirt and the "opportunity" to advertise. The Nikon and other branded straps are generally free with the purchase of the camera. You can argue that they aren't truly free - just bundled with the camera - but you can't buy the camera new without the strap.

I have a couple of those Nikon-branded straps and they are quite serviceable.
 
Let me see what i have. Are you looking for any particular color or style.?
 
Do you need an original one? My wife can make a similar one if it is interesting.
