Just got one of these. I don’t have any straps for these lugs. Let me know if you have a good quality one, used, and what you’d like for it. Leather preferred.

You can also buy some lugs and mount the strap of your choice on them.
Search for instance "Hasselblad lugs" on amazon.

Edit: PS: congratulations on your Hasselblad

Got one. Send me your email address.

I’d suggest bypassing the neck strap; the camera is too heavy to carry around your neck. Instead get a “shorty” strap that gives you a better handhold than just the camera. I use mine mostly on a tripod so don’t really need a strap.

I always use a neckstrap and recommend using one. I personally don't find it too heavy, but that may change as I get older

I agree, as I use and have faith in the Hasselblad leather wrist strap, which, if you want to have it automatic cinch more tightly, try using a strong, wide rubber band, doubled over if needed, and pulled to the left of the camera (for the left-hand hold) and adjust as needed.

The strap lugs are more widely spread than your wrist is, which pinches the band up you strap for a tighter hold.

Thanks all for the ideas. Will get in touch to see which ones work best. I have a relatively light lens (the 100mm Planar) so it seems doable. Will probably be different if I get the 50mm at some point.

Optech is a comfortable strap, looks ugly and out of place on any Hasselblad, but functions very well.

There are leather alternatives from PRC and more expensive from one-man custom houses, look great, many need a few years of use to get supple enough for ultimate comfort.

Original Hasselblad shorty is fine, but I don't think it's for every occasion, neck straps have their calling often enough.

I sent an Photrio Personal Message offering a H'blad leather neck strap. Did you get it? I like the and trust the H'blad neck strap. It is more versatile short hand strap. I use it mostly as a shoulder strap and cradle the camera in my hand when I am walking. I don't trust knock-offs to hold my valuable camera.
