Anyone done any near IR figure work? I've got SFX on the way. What I'm trying for is not so much the "IR Look", as just a touch of the porcelain skin, just enought to make it look a bit made up, what I"m heading for is a low key side lit figure.

Yes,,, I agree with anothe post that the black background, low key is turning into a cliche,,, but I still really like it, and have a lot of learning left to do.

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)
Here is an IR figure study. PITA to try to upload an image to this message. I ended up having to load it to the general gallery and then still couldn't figure out how to load it to this reply except to copy the link.

That's really close to the skin tone I was looking for. Appreciate the link.

What's your normal film for skin tone and figure shots?

That is an older image from the 1990s that I shot on Konica 120 IR film using a Rolleiflex. It was really an experiment and not a standard thing. I posted it so you could get a glimpse of what IR will do. The Konica film had an extended range of sensitivity so the IR affect was dependent on using a filter. I used only an orange filter for this shot. The red filter would have shown even darker veins and whiter skin I think. Note the nipples are very light tone, though not in reality.

That's just what I was looking for in skin tone, (breasts). I was going to try a dark yellow with the sfx, hoping to hold down the veins a bit.

Any other advice to mute the veins? Seems like moving to a blue filter with my unmentionable polaroid wannabe( ;-) made things even worse. Plus the skin tone went blotchy and rough looking.
