Recently I have received a National graflex series II. The rubber shitter curtains are fine but the mechanics was dead.
I managed to get the repair manual of Series I to study, and then I followed the steps and now it is also getting back to work.

When I tried to change the speed ( ie the gap size between the curtains) from 9 to 4 which is fine. But once I trying to get wider to 3 , I heard the wheels skipped by making click sounds , and for 2 and 1 I can hear the upper wheels that driving the upper curtain is skipping. It feels like something there when blocking the wheel

Anyone knows how to repair national graflex here?

These photos are from when I serviced mine, I they will help because I no longer have the camera.

Thanks for your photo .

I tried but the problem is still there. I am sure the tension , and the 4 rods the holding the curtains are fine . And I even know the "1" setting is fine as well . I took off the surface plate , put back the knob, lift & turn the setting wheel with pressing the kob firmly avoiding dislocation, I can see how the gears worked , and to be honest it worked well.

The overall gives me an impression that the something goes wrong with the clamps and the 2 wheels.
