Name plate on a Canon FD 135mm lens won't unscrew

The name plate on the Canon FD 135 mm should unscrew fairly easy using a rubber stopper or similar tool but I'm dealing with a really stubborn one. I tried with isopropyl alcohol or heating it up with a hair dryer but it won't move. any ideas how I can handle this task without damaging the name plate or the glass?
