I just purchased a Nagaoka 4x5 online. I was wondering what type of lens board fits this camera. I have been told a Linhoff-type board fits, but there seem to be a few different types of Linhoff boards. There are boards with two corners cut and perfectly square boards. Would either work?
My second question is: on ebay there is a seller based in China that sells "Linhoff-type" boards for $20 including shipping. Has anyone used this company? are they reliable? The price is right, but i dont want to wait 2 weeks to find it doesnt fit.
I use the older square boards - have not tried the newer (relatively) ones. I only have a couple of Linhof brand boards and made the rest myself using some aluminum stock from a hobby store. Wasn't too hard. Have no experience with the seller but given how easy it is to make for myself, I can't see how the seller could botch it up.
If you want the dimensions of a board, let me know.
I used to own a 4x5 Nagaoka and had a 90mm on a Linhof board with no diagonal cuts and a 150mm, 210mm and 400mm on boards with the cut corners. They all worked fine. The board without the cut corners had a millimetre or two spare on either side, but there was enough there to prevent any light leaks.
Hope this helps.
Mike

You should wait until you get the camera to see what size board it takes. Some of the Nagaoka cameras did take the Technika boards, and that is what the seller in China is selling. Other Nagaoka cameras had a different board.
