In TDC Anchell suggests to dissolve the Phenidone in 5.0 ml of methyl hydrate. I've none in stock but isopropanol (IPA). Can I take that too? Same dilution?

Methyl Hydrate is the obsolte term for Methyl Alcohol. So, yes, IPA is probably usable.

In the US there are brands of fuel line anti-freeze in the auto care sections of stores that are 100% methyl alcohol. That's what I used in making up the one batch of Mytol that I've used.

The OP is in Germany. If I'm not mistaken, Federated Auto Parts has a rather limited presence there.

Triethanolamine (TEA) is the one I use. 13,4 ml TEA at 0,15 g Phenidone per liter stock solution.

Over the years I've made up many Phenidone based formulae and never found a need to use an alcohol to help it dissolve, I usually make up higher concentrates than in most published formulae.
