Good morning.
Would anyone be able to identify this spool, which camera(s) that it is for?
I found it among my Leica bits, have no memory of where it came from....
It doesn't fit into anything Leica, including the FILCA and IXMOO.
TIA to those who know.

That looks like an in-camera (not intended to come out) takeup spool with its rewind release clutch. Can't say what it's from, but it's clearly not part of a cassette.

The spindle in the middle is part of a camera, but why isn't the film spool removable type?
Looks to me like it is, from some type of bottom loading camera. Probably early.
Is there a spring mechanism in the film spool?

Edit: looking around it could be a meta Zorki take up spool.
Not sure on the spindle Zorkis often have die cast gears, not brass.

As others said it's a take up spool and wind gear. It could be from an early Leica, FED, or Zorki. There are often small differences I think. It doesn't look like a late Zorki, where there are some splines on the shoulder of the spindle.

Scroll down in this RFF thread https://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=167380 for some pictures.

Thanks very much for that reference to RFF. That was really worth the look.
Maybe someone could use this?
I'd be happy to mail it to anyone who needs it, for the price of postage. I'm in Ottawa, so likely around $10 to mail it?
