I wonder if you can help.
I am in the possession of a Newman and Sinclair P100 35mm Cine Camera.
I am attempting to discover some background to this object. I cannot find any information on the net whatsoever, the closest I can find is the Newman & Sinclair NS400 featured on the Science Museum Group website in the Cinematography Category.
It has a Cooke Speed Panchro 18mm f1.7 T2.
If you are able to offer any help it would be much appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Gary

I am not familiar with that particular model, but I can tell you that the lens is very desirable even today for cinematography.

That's a very sweet looking camera! Great for MOS shots on location or as a 2nd unit camera for pick-up shots!

The camera appears to be a direct reflex model with a spinning mirror that takes 100 foot (30 meter) loads of 35mm film.

You might try contacting someone at the BFI National Archive: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BFI_National_Archive#External_links

They have a film lab and should have some gear heads out there that can help you with information.

Hi All.

Nobody in the entirety of the information superhighway knows anything other than the obvious regarding this camera. It really is a mystery!

Gary, custom and largely undocumented 35mm cinema cameras are not all that uncommon to run across if you look for them. They are kind of like cars; most have common features but SOMEONE has modified them or had a custom copy built to their specifications. That doesn't mean it isn't rare, but being rare in that field is pretty common. (see what I did there?) Anyway, very nice camera! I hope you get to shoot with it and enjoy it.
