Mystery Meopta Part

Hi,
I bought a Meopta Opemus 5 recently, in original box if somewhat rearranged. Anyway, there is a part that doesn't seem to go anywhere. See attached photo.

Everything works fine, so it's obviously not critical, but I'm curious to know what it is. (film roll provided for scale).

It is a mount for punched (copy) sheet films.

When one does seperations or for other reasons needs the sheets to be in register, one punches them and then places them on such respective mount before exposing them.
At contact printing on the board or at further enlarging on the enlarger such mount is used again to bring the sheets in register again. Either for successive or same-time print-exposure.
