Mystery 150mm RB Lens

I recently acquired an RB67-S and with it came a Mamiya 150mm K/L 3.5 L lens. It's not the SF f4.0 and doesn't have any electronic contacts. Haven't been able to find any info online about this thing.

Anyone know what it is or anything about its quality? And what does the "L" designation normally mean?

I've seen a few of them on ebay. Being a K/L lens, its probably identical to the 150mm lens for the RZ67. I've used the 150 for the RZ; it's a nice lens, like all the RB/RZ lenses. Try it out and see what you think.

I'm wonder about that lens, I have a 50, 90,180 I always wonder about that it , lets us know.

Hi - it is optically identical to the RZ 150 3.5 - the same 6 elements in 4 groups. It has a good reputation for sharpness. I've always felt there's rather an unnecessary cluster of lenses between 90 and 180 for the RZ/RB series - at one time a 90, 110, 127, 150 and 180 (and that's ignoring the 150 & 180 SF and 140 Macro). If you don't need speed, the 100-200 zoom seems a rather tempting alternative as I've only ever heard positive things said about lack of distortion, contrast and sharpness. Probably weighs a ton though....

Just acquired a 100-200 zoom - brighter in the V/F than I expected and I'm really appreciating the helicoid focus - but it is very big...

Nice acquisition unclemack.

I've been tempted by several on ebay recently BUT none had the support bracket and there are too many heart-rending stories about nuked bellows from the weight of the lens. I'll keep on looking - and in the meantime sell my 180 W-N to provide some necessary funds towards the zoom...
