Hi there! So, if we add some C41 developer C into A(no B), the solution would turn cyan, and if we put C into K2CO3 solution, it turns out the same color, which means C contains something that will turn cyan in an alkaline environment. Now if we add H2SO4 to change the PH to 7.8, the solution will turn magenta. So here is the question, what else do we have in C, except CD-4 and K2S205?
I'm sure it's fresh.Everyone can do this experiment.Hi there!
Part C of color developer c41 is in most cases that part wich come bad first from long therm storage!
I for me can't remember any trouble with part C but I would bet on :
You just find out the color wich indicates : Part C is bad!
with regards
PS : I would replace part C and try again!
You can be right - roundcloud - bravo I am with youI'm sure it's fresh.Everyone can do this experiment.
BTW : What is wrong with your avatar roundcloud? Where are you located ?This material is the key of CMY dye's development,it can hastened Cyan Dye.
Image highlight will turn to magenta without it.
my clerical error——
it can hastened the magenta Dye(or slow down the Cyan Dye).
Image highlight will turn to magenta without it.
hahaha,i will change the avatar.
This. For this reason I add sulfite first and then the CD4 in my home brew developer. BTW I've never seen CD4 turn cyan, so that part of the puzzle still puzzles me a bit.The developing agent is pink in acid due to aerial oxidation of the agent. Addition of Sulfite will render it colorless.

Thank you for reply, but part C already contain K2SO3 or K2S205.The developing agent is pink in acid due to aerial oxidation of the agent. Addition of Sulfite will render it colorless.

I cannot search for the MSDS on google...have a look at the MSDS, that may give some clues about what is in what part.
"there may be a small amount of a phenolic compound there which couples on the basic side and it forms a greenish compound"——that's just what I think to,Yep, it contains K2SO3 which oxidizes instantly in water due to the oxygen dissolved in the water. BTDT.
As for the green color, there may be a small amount of a phenolic compound there which couples on the basic side and it forms a greenish compound. There may be other reasons.

OK then it isn't K2SO5!...I had a guess but both chemicals are very less harmfull! If you don't eatYep, it contains K2SO3 which oxidizes instantly in water due to the oxygen dissolved in the water. BTDT.

I cannot search for the MSDS on google...
hahahaЯ вас не понимаю.
thanks! Most will come up with a search for "product name" with "MSDS" (or WHMIS) what brand of kit are you using and where was it sold originally.
