My thumbs up for Essex Camera Service

I just got my Zeiss Iktona IV and my Roleiflex Automat 4 back from Essex Camera Service. They did a great job on both cameras. The Zeiss Iktona IV was unused for a long while. The shutter wouldn't cock and the focusing knob was stiff. When I got it back it was cleaned up and serviced well. My Rolleiflex had a film advance problem and it was fixed and cleaned up too. I think they fixed both for a fair price. I think these old cameras are classic antique cars worth fixing if you can afford it.

Thanks for the tip, I have a Rollieflex also. I agree that old cameras are like classic antique cars.

Thanks for clearing up for me

.
Hi Ian,

Not that Essex, the other " Essex ".
Essex Camera Services.
New Jersey, USA.

I'm such a dolt. Being a typical insular Yank, I wasn't considering those APUPers across the Pond. Thanks for your clarification!

Thanks Essex is rather a large English County with a few camera repairers

People do post repairs both ways across the Atlantic as well, particularly to certain specialists.

It's an important distinction. When you get your camera back, it will go "click" with a very different accent!

The Brits and their mice

It's an important distinction. When you get your camera back, it will go "click" with a very different accent!

The Brits also click their mice on the wrong side of the mouse pad and spell "color" wrong
