Hello I guess I had better tell about myself.

I have been retired for many years now, living on the south coast of Western Australia Albany.
When working my days where spent in darkness, yes I was a commercial printer.
Over the years I have made many rough and ready cameras my last tally was over 20 pinhole and about the same with a lens,
The highlight of my picture/ camera making year is the World Wide PinHole Day

Hello Bernard It a long story but the short take is Much of my pinhole work had been scanned and was saved on a My passport drive, guess what it stopped working, so for the past few weeks I I have need searching and cataloging so I have a very high percentage of my cameras and images taken with them.
I will post small batches and see how we go Col

Arduino Pinhole camera
My cameras have entered the modern age.
Powered by an Aruino micro controller the exposure times can be varied by turning a small knob, and a stepper motor winds on the film.

The drive itself may still work fine. The circuitry that connects it to your computer may have failed.

I too am a regular participant in WPPD and have to admit I occasionally find building the cameras more interesting than using them.

I had a web site , then the hosting company changed hands it became a real headache so I droped it Col.

Hi Don I have been told pull it apart and on the inside there should be a 12 pin outlet that can connect to usb Col.

The portable drive will consist of the outside shell with a port to hook it up to a usb cable. Inside, there will likely be a SATA laptop-size hard drive. Depending what the failure was, that drive may be perfectly fine. It may be necessary to get it connected to a desktop computer, though, to read it.

Also, even if the drive itself is faulty, there are companies that can recover data from defective drives (but it would be costly).

I made this camera for 'World Wide Pin Hole Day 2017' Undoubtedly one of my most sophisticated cameras made so far I'm sure it's coveted my many wannabe photographers.
This camera takes small round pictures, featuring the state of the art ' watch the birdie shutter'

And A Plastic Camera
I made this camera from recycled plastic bottles that where laminated into sheets using an old electric sandwich press
The sheets where then formed over wooden shapes into the required shape.

This camera was created as my entry in Viewpoints** '2016 Drift ' exhibition.
The timber use was found washed up on a Little Grove beach.
