I would recommend trying it yourself. Larry Lyells' F100 repair guide is excellent.

While it may be easy for you, very few people can fix their camera without making it worse.

It's never easy unless you've done it several times before. But with good guidance, it's certainly doable. Provided you devote yourself to it and know your limits (which can often be expanded).

I have joined that group and so I will take my camera to Samy's Camera on Fairfax, ship the camera to KEH.com, or contact the camera company.
