My lazy Expired film (just) thread

Howdy,

I know, I should search, but I cannot find specifics.

I have some expired (by about 6 months) bits and pieces (all Fuji):

Sensia 200
Provia 100
Pro 400H

These films have been stored in the refrigerator (not the freezer).

I am assuming that they should be marginally OK. But for How long?

How about some Efke 25 black-and-white sheet film I found in a closet. It's been there about a year . . .

still perfectly fine. This box I'm shooting up now has been through x-ray machines(of all kinds) in Mexico, Peru, and Costa Rica(missions trips this past year), also the US.

still perfect. you shouldn't worry about any of it.

I got Astia and Provia from 1999(frozen, then refrigerated since 2005), still perfect.

I found 20 rolls of 220 Portra 160NC expired in 2007, but frozen, on Craigslist for $40. I'm poor, I could use some good cheap film. Is it worth it?

Offer the seller half the asking price, be prepared to pay full. Be willing to dicker -- two bucks a roll is decent even for expired frozen film.

Got some film that expired in 1986. It was not my film and the confused look he gave me when I asked, told me it was no where near a frige in its life AND...............drum roll.............. it was fogged. Where you expecting a different out come ??

Freeze 'em, and soon. They keep way longer frozen.

Still, not expired enough, given the decent storage, to worry much. But don't keep them forever.
