I started photography in about 1958, I've been at it on and off since then, I'm 74, my first camera was an Halina 35x, you needed a pair of pliers to turn the fo using ring! Went through a few finishing up with a Leica M3 with just a collapsible 50mm f2 Summicron, father bought for me as a gift for some help I gave him, I regret selling that outfit(I have an M9)I've been down the darkroom route with 35mm and medium format, Yashicamat's and Mamiya TLR and a Rolleicird VB, again I regret selling those, my current film cameras are, Minolta Dynax 7, a Nikon F80, an Olympus Trip(lovely camera)a Bronica SQA, a Fuji G645i, a few years ago I was fortunate enough to sell all my darkroom equipment to a young photography student, she was unbelievably grateful, I had the common sense to hang onto all my film developing equipment just in case, i have metal developing reels! I'm now using it as after scanning some old negatives and putting some XP2 through my Olympus Trip and loving the results.

Good Morning, Bazzer,

Welcome from southwestern Illinois. You got your start in photography about the same time I did; if APUG had been in existence back then, I'd have had a lot less "error" in my trial and error photo education.

Special yes. Friendly...

Jaf-Photo, until now and from what I've seen, this has been a friendly experience for me. I have received a lot of help, support and offers well beyond my expectations.

What can I say, I am sorry if your experience is different and I hope it will improve, if you so wish.

Welcome Bazzer. I can't talk about others, but I could surely use some of your experience in improving my skills.
