So after spending many an hour reading the hows and whys, sizing paper, doing test strips and experimenting, i finally have my first real attempt at a gum print.
No doubt i have a long way to go, my coating method is clearly letting me down, i think the addition of a drop of tween 20 that i hadn't tried before actually made it harder rather than easier and i would have liked the highlights to have cleared a little better.

But none the less, i'm pretty chuffed with the results.

Critique away

Thank you, for now i'm just playing with single colour, but it won't be long before i'm tempted away by tri-colour prints!

This was done from a digital negative that is an enlargement from 35mm, i was able to get a really good printer really cheap (two broken ones i combined into a single working one actually) but only cheep OHP film.
Good lord did i get threw a lot of OHP film trying to get a good digital negative!!!
And yes, this was with black gouache mixed with gum, though i think watercolour may work better...

By the way @jnanian, if you are planning to try it one day, i'd be quick to stock up on dichromate, and of this month (i think) it becomes basically illegal to buy sell own or use for Joe public, in much of Europe anyway i believe.

Bloody health and safety :getlost:
